Release Idle unsubscribe add-on
#1
Hi folks,

My first add-on release. It's primarily aimed at folks that use TV backends (TV Headend, etc). The purpose is to unsubscribe from the active channel/video playback after the idle timer elapses. This allows your system to release a tuner or channel if nobody is actively watching the tv.

I've mainly developed this for the PI, since this is left on 24x7, so to avoid it constantly streaming a channel.

Feedback and comments are welcome.

Good idea (and also good code) Smile

But - especially on the rpi - it is resource wasting to have (another) python script running in background. IMO this functionality should be part of the core PVR code...

Other than that, good work, thanks!

Thanks!

Yes I agree would be nice into the PVR plug-in/code. I'll take a look and see if I can integrate into that (and submit a PR if success) as shouldn't be too tricky to build in (and would avoid a constantly idling look effectively waiting+watching).

Cheers
