what i'm wishing is for a script that can send eject/load/refresh commands through ide instead of the yellow pigtail for those of us who are using a pc dvd drive without a mod for the yellow pigtail. any help is most appreciated!

you would be better off asking as a feature requests. python has little exposure to hardware.
