Solved VGA monitor problem on Ubuntu
#1
Hi,
I successfully installed XBMC onto my Ubuntu installation and have it automatically login and start XBMC at boot. I currently have it set up with my 1024x768 monitor, but it will later be hooked up to my 1386x768 TV (or something like that). I want to only use the VGA display because my netbook's resolution is 1024x600 (ugh). In Unity, I have full control over the monitors and it works perfectly. In XBMC I only have the options "Full Screen #1" and "Windowed" mode. How can I get XBMC to detect my VGA monitor, switch to it, and set it to the max resolution?

Thanks

Ubuntu 13.0.4 32-bit

I just realized that if I boot into Unity (with the correct display settings) and then launch XBMC, it keeps the display settings from Unity. How can I launch those settings when I use XBMC as my UI? Should I boot into Unity and then have it auto-launch XBMC?

Well, I simply fixed this booting into Unity (with the correct display settings) and then having it auto-launch XBMC. Works great!
