- FULL Debug Log (Please use your favourite paste site! See below.) << NOT OPTIONAL!

- If you can, get screenshots to illustrate problems (See below)

- "Latest" is NOT a revision, of ANYTHING! (See below)

On Frodo I had this problem and upgraded to nightly to see if it was fixed (post http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=166777). The problem persists.

- Linux Distribution and Version (See below)
Ubuntu 12.10
Linux Jeeves 3.5.0-41-generic #64-Ubuntu SMP Wed Sep 11 15:36:42 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

- Architecture (e.g.. i686, x86_64, etc. (See below)
x86_64

- Install Method (PPA, RPM, build.sh, manual, other)
apt souce: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/xbmc-nightly/ubuntu quantal main

- GIT Revision (See below.)
not applicable

- Detailed Instructions to Reproduce the Problem (The more specific the better.)
Playback some items. When a playback ends (the end of the video file is reached and I expect the UI to show) then XBMC segfaults. This is not on every item. It can be a Youtube plugin item or a local TV show file or an airplay item. I did not see a pattern in what item is crashes on.
In the debug log you can see me using what I use on a average day. I did fairly well today before it crashed Smile

- Backtrace (Only attainable if XBMC has crashed. See below.)

- Compiler Output (Only useful if XBMC doesn't build. See below.)

What makes you think vaapi would work on AMD hardware. This has never worked ok and won't ever get any better because the xvba backend driver for vaapi is not maintained. Here is some reading: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=116996

Thanks FernetMenta! vaapi was the logical choice in the XBMC interface for AMD hardware when I configured it a year ago. Playback and UI where very smooth.

The link you provided got me on the xvba track. I still have some fine-tuning to do (tearing while the UI is visible) but the crashes are gone.
