can 2 raspberry pi' be linked together and have xbmc use both of them together, possibly 1gb ram and use both cpu`s? is this even possible?

are you looking to load balance Rpi's to run one instance of XBMC? If so, no you cant do that.
you can run two XBMC instances on two different TV's and link their libraries for seamless watching... but if all you're trying to do is get more performance then the Pi's can deliver your probably better getting a higher-end HTPC than a Rpi.
