Linux XBMC GUI running target of 30fps...even when refresh set to 50fps/60fps
#1
As title really, running using the XVBA testing branch so on Gotham Alpha 9...but same behaviour in Alpha 8/7.

Basically, go to system info and can see rendered FPS of the gui running at between 28-32fps, mostly on close to 30fps.

Hardware is easily capable of much more and first time encountered such strangeness, (have other boxes with exact same spec except Frodo 12.2 instead of Gotham).

It makes Live TV look wrong for 50i material....Except when going fullscreen, then it runs as it should - 50fps. This is without a resolution/display mode change...can only assume this behaviour is deliberate

Is there a setting somewhere for this, seems odd?

Thanks.

For the menus that is normal. For the rest it sounds like fglrx fuckup ;-)

Provide:

dpkg -l |grep fglrx | pastebinit
dmesg | pastebinit
xbmc.log with debugging turned on
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll provide that info tomorrow, going to be away from home until then.

It's an nVidia GT430 so don't think it's the fglrx thing?
Anyway will post full log etc when I get back.

Thanks

Yeah, log file will tell. So not a fglrx fuckup obviously. For the future: Debug Log that can help us looking into the crystal ball.
