I've got everything setup working nicely, but I would like to add the channel icons too. I have them copied already, just can't set the path. 
I'm using Frodo 12.2 on windows 8.

If you want to use local picons, then please de-select the option to use the picons from the web interface first. (it is the setting above the picon path)

I have the same problem, struggling with adding picons to my channels. You can do it manually by going in to channel manager in xbmc-settings-live tv-general but there's alot of channels.
Would be nice to have this done automatically.
I run VU+ on Frodo.

Found out a minute after I wrote this
go to ~\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata\addon_data\pvr.vuplus - open settings with notepad, change <setting id="onlinepicons" value="false" /> and <setting id="iconpath" value="E:\~\Picons\" />
Done
Finally, been struggling with this for a while
