TVDB scraper failing
#1
Am running Frodo and just noticed that the TVDB scraper is failing with the message "unable to connect to remote server".

I've searched, but can't find anything recent to indicate this being a general problem or as a result of the TVDB guys changing their back-end. Have I missed something and is anybody else seeing this?

<Overview>A high-octane suspense drama that centers on Dr. Ellen Sanders, a premier surgeon thrust into a chilling political conspiracy when she and her family are held captive in their home by rogue FBI Agent Duncan Carlisle, a desperate man doing the wrong thing for the right reasons, who orders Dr. Sanders to assassinate the President when she operates on him.
Carlisle's highly skilled accomplices include his brother-in-law Kramer, whose loyalty to Carlisle will be tested; quick-tempered and intimidating Archer, an ex-military man with a razor-sharp tongue; and the only woman involved, Sandrine, a mysterious last-minute replacement to the team. With her family’s life in peril, Ellen faces an incomprehensible moral dilemma in order to save her overbearing husband Brian, her secretive daughter Morgan and her not-so-innocent son Jake.</Overview>

Same thing is happening with the Ember Media Manager scraper so its not an XBMC only issue. And its happening to me too

Errors are being reported for most scrapers on thetvdb forum so it looks like something with their API has changed.

Same thing here. On thetvdb forum, someone posted (using a different software) that they changed the link from using http://thetvdb.com to http://www.thetvdb.com and it was working. Curious to see if that fixes this but no idea where to change that on Frodo. Using the Mac version of XBMC.

Give this a go if you can't wait..Wink

xbmc tvdb scraper:

I haven't tested it yet but the TVDB forums are reporting that this is now fixed (as of 23:00 last night). Has anyone here been able to test/confirm?

Newbie here, but within that file we should change all the http://thetvdb.com to http://www.thetvdb.com?

So I've been toiling with this for days now. Even after people said this was working again, it still wasn't for me.

Constantly hitting update library, update library, updating XMLs reinstalling XBMC, etc. Nothing worked, but I think I stumbled on a way how to get it to work without changing anything.

My shows are in ShowName\Series #\Filename.avi

In XBMC, I went into videos then browsed it through the file manager.

I right clicked on a show name, clicked TV show information (in this case Archer), I picked the correct one (there are multiple shows with the name Archer in it) and the damn thing started to populate. I also had Duck Dynasty which, although a unique name, didn't populate until doing the TV show info thing with Archer.

I'm doing this off of memory but I believe I ran a full library update after that and everything populated.

I'm going to test my theory out more but this is what I got to work after frustratingly hitting update library over and over again.

It's like going into TV show information kicks it in the butt to get it working temporarily.

Edit: So that may have just been a timing thing. The info downloads but sometimes it will show 0 episodes belonging to it.

There's only a handful of my 15 shows that are having this problem. I'm not really sure why, but I am tempted to delete the show(s) completely and re-add them.
