I have noticed that items are not marked as watched since i updated to 14.0. Anyone else noticing strange watched indicator behavior?

No that is a slightly different issue.

Can you get us a debug log (wiki) of when this happens? Maybe it's a corrupted DB.

hmmm cant atm and im packing tomorrow and moving saturday. Oddly enough i wouldn't be surprised if it is a DB issue. Im using sql but i ran into the mysterious duplicate episode issue 2 weeks ago. I did notice it happened again so im sure i can reproduce it. The hard part is getting the log off the firetv.
