Bug Problem with Tuner in use not recognized by ServerWMC
#16
I have one of the 6 tuner versions of the prime (just two 3-tuners bolted together, two ethernet ports, two power supplies, one metal housing). my channel 725 is dead, channel 744 is giving me the all tuners in use in XBMC but when I go into MCE, it works fine. not sure if it matters but I did use tuner salad to increase the tuners available but mce still only sees 4 of my 6 tuners

Okay so its channel 744 that you are wondering about (not 725). Set this value in swmc's config.xml file:

<Decoy_LiveStreamProtectLevel>0</Decoy_LiveStreamProtectLevel>

save and restart swmc. Then see if you can tune to 744. Let me know.

thanks for the help! truly enjoy having Kodi being the center of all my media consumption and ServerWMC makes it perfect!

Okay. But where I was going is... you really need to resolve the problem that wmc only using 4 of your 6 tuners, if you don't I think you will have problems again. When there isn't a game on, run tunersalad again and make sure it has changed the limit. Then imeediately after start wmc and re-setup tv making sure that wmc sees all six tuners.

sorry about the bears...

I did the re-setup of my tv and WMC now sees all 6 tuners, after exiting ServerWMC and restarting, it sees all 6 as well.
just started up XBMC and oops, I forgot to remove all the SD channels and pay stuff.. time to exit and fix on the MCE end
might as well get a beer as well Big Grin

thanks much!

I am having this problem too Sad. I have a hdhomerun dual for OTA and one usb antenna tuner. I had this problem a few weeks ago on one channel and it cleared up but moved to another channel. The channel I am trying to access is 13.1. It works fine on wmc but when I try to access it on a xbmc device I get the 'all tuners for this channel busy' error. Here is some of my log: http://pastebin.com/sNq0dHsv

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all your hard work!

Having the same issue. Currently using kworld USB ATSC Hybrid TV Stick. I can watch channels on WMC but when I try to access them on XBMC I get :All tuners for this channel are in use."

Running XBMC on Fire TV.

@clarkm,

I need to see the whole log file after a fail, not just the excerpt for your show.

@Kalebbroo,

How many tuners are on your system and what are they? There is a strange tuner showing up with the generic 'Name: Tuner for Windows Media Center, Space: ATSC' and when its being used the channel fails.

This is my first attempt at running a backend for live tv so please excuse any ignorance.

From looking at the box I think they are only 2 tuners.Im not sure what the tuner for WMC is. Let me reconfigure live tv and post another log.

I'm just getting started with ServerWMC and XBMC and am seemingly running into this same issue. I think a workaround when you run into the Tuners in Use issue upon switching to a channel is to just start playing a recorded show in your xbmc client and then go back and try to start the live tv channel again. Seems to work for me then. Also restarting xbmc seems to work.

There is a bug on some systems with tuner-in-use errors showing up when they shouldn't. This should be fixed in the next release of swmc (any day now...)

That's great. I've been quietly using it for a few months now and really enjoy the product. Thanks for all the work.
