after looking around at the streaming people are doing, i remembered that vegas is mostly monitored by cctv, some of which you can see online (as well as on a local tv station).

so looking into streaming that, i found that what the cams actually do is upload an image and the webpage uses a java app that refreshes the image, looking like a kinda stream.

you can paste this (i've tried it on a couple of my machines) and the image does pop up.

even with that guid, which i thought at first was going to be an id of some sorts to stop leaching, however i can refresh the page and basically simulate what their webpages do.

so how do i get this to refresh, could i somehow use the built in httpd server to do this, i can script in asp and stuff, i dunno what the webserver really does.

you don't. thts not a movie stream, its a java applet serving stills (so you answered your own question).
