Which Diff Program do you use?

Sad
i was wondering which program other people are using for comparing 2 files (and/or folders), especially for xml-updates in xbmc.

currently i am using winmerge and find it quite good, but it has a major flaw:
when comparing, winmerge displays the current line which is different in those 2 files.
but i want it to show me only the string or character in the line which has changed instead of the complete line, so i haven't got to search the whole line and find the string/character which is different.

is there an option in winmerge to show only the different string in the selected line?

which programs do you use for file comparing?

try araxis merge, imo the best merge program.

at work we use beyond compare.

it is quite good.

you can define your own comparison rules for specific filetypes
don't know whether a rule for xml is already build in.

it doesn't support 3 way comparison/merge like araxis merge prof.
but it costs only $30 :-)
