I am thinking of buying an XBMC G box MX2 is it possible to connect the box via composite to my steam driven ancient SCART palsma TV? or will it only output to an HDMI TV

http://www.amazon.com/G-Box-Midnight-MX2...B00CH643A8 Suggests it has a composite output. No idea how well supported it will be.

I used to run a SCART TV on my HTPC using a VGA to RGB SCART cable, an ATI Radeon (important as they output H+V syncs on the same pin if you told them to - which SCART needs) and a custom 1024x576 interlaced output mode. Was really pretty good for XP Windows Media Center - but was before the days of XBMC under Windows. Had to install VNC to be able to remotely login though - as sometimes it would come up in a normal VGA mode which the TV couldn't cope with.

Thanks very much for the reply............ after reading your post I think it may be time to lash out on a new smart TV; less hassle!

No need for a smart TV, XBMC has all of the features you need Big Grin
