After I install xbmc onto my hp slate 7 tablet, and it goes for its first run, then it stops. The error message simply reads 'unfortunately, xbmc stopped. I have enabled unknown sources. Can anyone advise please?

How very unhelpful.
To the OP, the reason why XBMC won't work on your tablet pc is because your hardware and/or software is unsuitable.
Tough luck, no-one can tell you why and you will never find out.
This is precisely what can be expected from an operating system which is "open source". Any man and his dog can modify it, so a situation of total anarchy is conjured into existance.
The XBMC team are obviously struggling hard to contain this situation and seem to have achieved a degree of success.
I think I am going to take back everthing I have ever said about Bill Gate$. Perhaps oligarchy is, after all, better than anarchy.

I have an HP Slate 7 and the following build works for me:

I haven't tried later Gotham builds but the July release seems to work OK.
