Thanks for the updated build.

I have no audio in Mac OS X Mavericks, on my 2010 iMac using the default audio (in settings). I do have GUI sounds, but audio in my PVR (cmyth), and Movies / TV Shows is not working at all.

My debug log is here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/102187/xbmc.log

This is the latest OS X 12.3 build posted above: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/test-builds/osx/...x86_64.dmg

Please let me know if you need any additional details.

I had this issue once on the test build, but now I can't reproduce it and audio seems to work just fine. What are you using to playback audio? Just the internal speakers? TV speakers? HDMI receiver? Have you tried a reboot on the iMac?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I'm using the internal headphone out to a pair of computer speakers on my iMac - no receiver. I have tried rebooting the iMac and no change - no audio. I'll try installing on my Macbook with Mavericks as well, but no luck on my iMac.

Thanks.

Please check the first post in this thread and include all the information asked there. Especially the part about if this was an existing problem or not in 12.2.

I had the same problem with similar config on my Mac Book Pro, no sound from headphone jack, xbmc set to analog.

Sound only works now when I change audio output type whilst playing a video.

I can't do anything with this information without this:

  • Say if this was also an issue in v12.2 or not.
  • A debug log (wiki)
  • The build date (in the download URL or in system info on XBMC)
  • Details about your system (OS, hardware specs, etc)
  • Steps needed to reproduce the issue (play a movie, go to a file list, use an add-on, etc)
  • The more details, the better.

Could the slow seeking be due to the new libnfs version, or does it happen with SMB and local content as well? Have to test this tonight.

Just had a crash on open: http://pastie.org/8459716

I couldn't get XBMC to start again until I deleted advanced settings.

PHP Code:
<advancedsettings>
    <
gui>
        <
algorithmdirtyregions>1</algorithmdirtyregions>
        <
visualizedirtyregions>false</visualizedirtyregions>
    </
gui>
</
advancedsettings

EDIT:

Just brought back advanced settings and XBMC started without a problem (as it did for the last few days, before the crash).

Nah protocol doesn't make any difference, neither does media being on local drive. But there is a small difference when it's local.

- Over NFS and SMB when you skip, you can see the picture the whole time, also the position it is going to skip to, you just have to wait couple of seconds before it proceeds with the playback
- With local media it skips to the position, and playback continues almost immediately, but is very juddery for couple of seconds, and then smoothes again

Since this is listed on the first page no logs are needed..?

Well here it is anyway, first over NFS and then the same video from a local drive.

Funny, I really thought that the pause after skipping was because of my hardware Wink turn's out it is not ...

Anyway my experience on an old 2007 macbook 10.7.5

cpu usage and battery level 0% in system info which is something that is fixed in gotham not sure if it was supposed to be fixed 12.3.

screen refresh in the system info page is 60fps versus gotham alpha9 29fps which is sort of irrelevant for the user experience, except that this causes xbmc to use 17%cpu versus 6% which makes the laptop a bit more noisy. And that is a different user experience Wink
This is only on the system info page, just displaying files is less then 10% in both. playback also more or less the same.

For ppl having problems with sound on OSX, this might be more related to the mac then to xbmc.
From my own experience, at some point in time my macbook had some issues as well, not related to xbmc but, xbmc was the only application that was able to solve this sound issue by changing the output of the sound from analog to digital and back to analog while playing a video. I am not sure what the cause of this sound issue was. I have not been the only one and the problem has disappeared completely. I can now freely switch from headphones to internal speaker.
Although this is not the hdmi problem and neither the gui sounds but no movie sounds ....

Nothing much else noted so I am back to gotham alpha9

Regarding sound. I am using a 2012 Mini and osx10.9. I can't get sound from any of the test builds, night lies, etc ... In particular my Bluetooth headphones don't work except one time where I could get GUI sounds but no audio from a video. Odd as XBMC has always been very good to me sound wise. XBMC Frodo in win8.1 works great on a NUC. Plex on the Mini works fine from the audio aspect.

I have tried both 32 and 64 bit versions of test Frodos. Is it easier to get the 32 bit one to work?

When I have been able to launch a video hardware acceleration was turned off.
