Custom media Flags help needed
#1
Hi guys,

I have zero experience with skin editing etc. so please take that in count when reading this topic Smile

I am using the Aeon MQ4 skin with the MULTIPLEX view. What I want is XBMC to show me what type of movie it is when scrolling through my library. With this I mean specifically: I want to be able to see in a elegant way which type the movie is. I want to see 4 different kinds of movies:
1. movies that are not D-Box and not 3D
2. movies that are not 3D but only D-Box
3. movies that are not D-Box but only 3D
4. movies that are both D-Box and 3D supported

I think that the nicest solution would be to have 4 kind of covers (I don t want cases!)
1. a cover with no information on it (so only the movie cover).
2. a cover with a small D-Box logo (eg. in the corner)
3. a cover with a small 3D logo
4. a cover with both a small D-Box and 3D logo

User butchabay already helped me on my way with this by doing something with the MEDIA FLAGS.
Image
At this moment I only have the D-Box logo working for my movies that are D-Box supported. I had to make this work by doing this:
1. Rename the logo http://i.imgur.com/47GOi.png to dbox-logo.png
2. Put the logo in C:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC\addons\skin.aeonmq.4\media
3. Replace MediaFurniture.xml in C:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC\addons\skin.aeonmq.4\720p with this file https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B2xPvwt...HlUdnkxZkU
4. Rename all my D-Box supported movie folders from eg. Avatar to Avatar.dbox (I use one folder for each movie)
5. Rescan my movies

So IF you guys cannot help me with the 'cover solution' I talked about maybe I can extend the 'media flags solution' that user batchabay made for me. Only thing is that I would need to change a few things which I don t know how to do this myself.

I can imagine that I will have 4 different movie folders in the end:
1. C:\Movies\Avatar
2. C:\Movies\Avatar.dbox
3. C:\Movies\Avatar.3d
4. C:\Movies\Avatar.dbox3d

This D-Box logo I would like to use:
http://i.imgur.com/47GOi.png

This 3D logo I would like to use:

IF you guys can help me with the 'cover solution' it would be great.
if you guys can help me with the 'media flags solution' I hope someone can make me a MediaFurniture.xml for my purpose. Also I would like to DISABLE all other media flags. So:

1. No media flags for a movie that is not D-Box and not 3D (for folder eg. C:\Movies\Avatar)
2. A D-box media flag for a movie that is D-Box but not 3D (for folder eg. C:\Movies\The Beach.dbox)
3. A 3D media flag for a movie that is 3D but not D-Box (for folder eg. C:\Movies\The Great Gatsby.3d)
4. Both the D-Box and 3D media flag for a movie that is 3D and D-Box (for folder eg. C:\Movies\WreckItRalph.dbox3d)

For the media flags solution I would also like (if it is possible):
1. for a movie that is D-Box but not 3D show the D-Box logo at the far left corner
2. for a movie that is 3D but not D-Box ALSO show the D-Box logo at the far left corner (at the same place as 1!)
3. for a movie that is both 3D and D-Box show the D-Box logo at the far left corner and the 3D logo on the right next to it.

I hope it is a little bit understandable what I m looking for and if someone can help me with this.

I opened a topic because I need some specific custom skin editing. Well, it s not really editting the skin. It involves media flags in movie library views. If someone want to help me I would really appriciate this! A donation is no problem if that is wanted.

ps. sorry for my bad English.

MassIV, I just did some testing and things are working a little bit!!!

What I first did is test how the screens look with the 3d logo. As you can see in the screenshot the logo is somehow stretched out or something and looks pretty ugly. The logo I use is:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:B...d_logo.png

Check the D-Box logo which looks much nicer (it looks exactly like the original D-Box logo).

How can I make the 3d logo look as the original but of course then only smaller.

The image is getting stretched to the width and height of the control. Normally all flags are the same dimensions, with their own empty space around them, as they probably come from the same photoshop file.

This version doesn't stretch them:

Ok. So I replace the xml from the earlier post from you and replace it with the one posted above by you?

And what about a dbox+3d .png logo, do i have to create this myself?

EDIT:
Could you also find a way so the Blu Ray logo will look just a little bit bigger? As you can see it is pretty small (also when comparing it to the D-Box logo which I also don t mind if you can make it bigger; both of course the same size approx)

Yes, replace the first with the second to see the difference. If you don't like it, go back to the first.

Yes, unless you can find someone to make them for you. And the logos just need to be wide instead of high, just like the PG-13 one.

(Just noticed i forgot to make them a little smaller after they were done... so maybe you can do that)

it is almost perfect with your help!!! I m really thankful to you.

There is one last thing however. Is it somehow possible to remove all the other flags like the studio icon, PG13 flag etc? I only would like to see the flags you made for me

Hi Mass,

The above post is not THAT important to me but I just found out another problem:

All my movies are in a separate folder that matches the movie name. My library in XBMC only 'sees' the movies that have the folder names eg. ''Avatar.dbox''
All the folders that are named eg. ''The Great Gatsby 2013.3d'' or ''The Ring.db3d'' are not recognized. I think that the person who made this for me somehow did something so XBMC does not 'look at' the .dbox part from a folder. Can you see if you can make this work for if a movie folder is called movie.3d or movie.db3d?

The flags can be removed sure, anything is possible. But that file is over a thousand lines plus i've never tried using MQ4 at all so i don't know how it is put together.

All that the added code does is look at the filename+path (the whole path) of the current selected item, and if it contains f.e: .db3d (anywhere) then it sets the available logo to visible. That is all. It does not influence the settings of how your media is scanned.

Thanks for your reply. Let s forget about the flags to be removed. I m happy with how it is now.

But I still have the problem that something is not configured right. Like I said, my library only 'sees' the movies (folders) that are called:
Moviename
Moviename.dbox

My library DOES NOT recongnize:
Moviename.3d
Moviename.db3d

So something is letting XBMC 'ignore' the .dbox but it does not ignore .3d and .db3d.

Try this file:
http://www61.zippyshare.com/v/99943787/file.html

And use these in the path

.dbox
.threed
.dbthree

Same icon names.

Just to try and not use the actual word "3d".
