Listening to "internet radio" from Icecast on local network
#1
I currently have IceCast and Ices2 set up on my personal Linux PC, on my local network. With this setup, I can successfully listen to music played on my Linux PC, using Banshee, or similar, on any computer in the house that is on the network, by browsing to the broadcast URL with a web browser. The music is broadcast in Ogg/Vorbis format.

Is it possible to listen to this local "radio station" with XBMC which is on an HTPC connected to my home entertainment center? I have tried the Icecast plugin with no success. It just displays an empty filelist when I point it to http://192.168.2.210:8000/example1.ogg, the Icecast sever address. Is this possibly due to the Ogg/Vorbis format? Is XBMC capable of playing Ogg/Vorbis? Or am I doing something else wrong?

Thanks for any help or insight!
