Using the latest (November) alpha of Gotham.

I can't navigate the virtual keyboard using my remote. SMSJump is turned on in keyboard.xml and works when navigating lists.

The Input Devices under system settings only gives me the option to enable mouse and touchscreen and enable joystick and gamepad. No difference regardless of which combination is ticked.

Enable the following: System/Settings > System > Input devices > Remote control sends keyboard presses

For Gotham, you will have to change your user-level to Advanced or Expert to see this option. You can do this by opening the slideout menu on the left. Also, you have to use a Gotham-compatible skin such as Confluence.
