I have looking to replace my boxee box with a new streaming box, and I would very much like to find an "open" hardware / software solution that runs xbmc, but that also supports netflix.

I have read the posts about how Netflix doesn't work on a linux xbmc platform (like raspberry pi, etc.) due to its initial use of Silverlight, but how did D-link get their boxee box to support Linux? The boxee box is running linux, so how did they get it to work?

Did d-link build a native netflix client?

They are not open source.

Netflix works under Linux using WINE. There is an installer to set the Silverlight plugin to run under WINE, then you trick your browser to say it is a Windows browser.

im pretty sure boxee box runs WinCE...not a linux distro
