Linux No sound when playing HD video (sometimes)
#1
Hey everyone

I have a little issue with my XBMCbuntu installation: from time to time when starting a HD video there is no sound. Stopping the video and trying again can sometimes resolve the problem, but it also happens that it takes multiple restarts (of the video, not the system). If i use "play from here" on an episode and the sound works, i can switch through all episodes without losing the sound. If on the other hand I select a single episode, have sound, watch it to the end and then choose the next one manually, that one might still come up mute.
I've had this problem for some time now, but i believe it is occuring more often recently.

debug-log without audio
debug-log with the same file, where it worked right from the start

I tried to compare the logs, but did not spot anything...

My setup:
ASUS EB1501P:

XBMCbuntu , installed via usb-stick, updated via apt-get dist-upgrade
XBMC 12.2 Git:32b1a5e (Compiled: May 2 2013)

Output (audio and video) via HDMI to a Philips full-HD TV.
Files are stored on a Synology NAS and mounted via autofs to mnt/NAS/

exiftool on the mkv-file gave this output:
Code:

Now I dont know if this might be related, but even when the audio is working on HD files, it still takes about 3 seconds till the audio kicks in. If i then rewind to 00:00:00 and play again, it works right from the start.

Any idea on what might be causing the problem?
