Bluecop Repo Hulu shows stopping randomly
#1
I am hoping to be able to watch my Hulu+ shows on XBMC, but I am having some trouble. I've installed the Bluecop repo and got the add-ons for Hulu installed just fine. I can play the shows, but they won't play all the way through. I have network preroll on and ads disabled and set to zero. The show starts fine, but cuts out at random points. I thought it was cutting out at the point where the ad was supposed to play, but when I watch the same show on Hulu's website, the ads seem to be in slightly different places than where the show cut out at. Anyone use this repo for Hulu and might be able to help me? I'm brand new to XBMC, this is my first experience and it's not going well so far, so any help would be appreciated. My wife will not tolerate me fiddling with the TV all night again trying to get it to work, so I have "limited access" to fiddle unless I have a good idea of how to fix it!

first, there is support under the video addon forum.
you should always look there first, and use the search function.

you will first need to go to this site -- http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=166099
and download this repository as well, so that it will update your version of HULU.

you may also want to go to this site -- http://www.mediafire.com/?x4cvp5hl4m9xr
and get the latest librtmp / rtmpdump files... it doesn't sound like this is the problem, but it will only help.

secondly -- remove ALL ADS AND NETWORK PREROLL. this has been known to cause problems.

third. learn to post logs -- http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=log_file
check this site for further findings -- http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...light=hulu

it might take another day (or two) of fiddling.. but don't give up, and reassure the mrs. that it's worth it.

Oh, I see the help forum now, I didn't scroll down far enough. I thought I was posting in the right place, sorry about that.

I followed the links you provided for the librtmp and rtmpdump files. In new, I only see KSV and RP librtmp. First, is there any reason to use one over the other? They also don't specify 32 or 64 bit, does that mean it doesn't matter? And the only rtmpdump I can find is in the older folder. Should I be using the older one, or is that already included with XBMC that I just downloaded?

I'll follow your other recommendations to get going, thanks. And I'm sure you're right, after a few days I should be a little more comfortable with everything. I know I'm new and had some pretty basic questions, but we all know it can be a little overwhelming when working with new software. I just wanted to say thanks for pointing out what may seem obvious, in a polite and respectful way. So...thank you.

np... always glad to help.

i'm not sure about installing librtmp on Windows. I'm a Linux user.

there's a support thread for this as well -- http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...ht=librtmp
with links to a wiki that take you here -- http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW...mp#Windows

hop over to the support threads, and me (or someone else) can help you there...
i'll look for you in one of the forums.
