That makes sense, since both 3:10 Yuma and planet Earth are both VC-1 encodes and the Ouya doesn't have hardware acceleration for VC-1. If it plays them at all it would be in software decode. At least most blurays are in h.264.

It's even happening with my h.264 rips. I may try the latest Gotham nightly to see if it helps.

I'm thinking of taking the plunge on the OUYA for my spare bedroom - just going to connect it to my tv - so no dts etc - the only thing that worries me is the size on the storage (8 gb) - I have quite a large collection of movies - will my userdata folder eat up ALL the space available - or can I use a path substitution to an external usb drive - any thoughts

What is the bitrate of the movie?
What is the bitrate of your network connection?
Does it play OK if stored locally to the OUYA?

All good questions that, to be honest, I'm not sure of how to find the answers to. I'm still new to the Android interface for XBMC (had been running XBMC Live and XBMCbuntu for the past five years) so don't know how to find those things and the movie looks like it would be too big to store on the OUYA (the file is 17GB) so don't think I can check that.

You can try to play it off a usb drive. To rule out network playback specific problems. I have never seen a 720P movie with that big a file size.

Depends how long the movie is and what the bitrate is.

Hi Guys
I want to get a soundbar for my tv and ouya.
Just wondering if there is anything I should be aware of in terms of compatibility with xbmc running on the Ouya.
The soundbar connects using HDMI so do I connect it up to the tv or to the ouya.. Actually when I come to think of it, the Ouya only has 1 hdmi connection so I guess I must connect the soundbar to the tv?
