Win [solved] Medion X10 Remote EventGhost XML
#1
Dear readers,

I have been searching for a bit to get my oldschool-remote working, it's a Medion X10 RF remote. After scouring the web I made my own solution with the help of some existing tools. So, here we go:

- I'm using windows 8.1 pro; xbmc 12.2, May 2nd 2013.

I put it all in one package - http://snk.to/f-c7xpfxto

1. Get the driver, folder nr. 1. Install it and check if there is no error in device manager. Should be named as X10 USB Wireless Transceiver (ACPI-compliant). [Ignore folder 1.1, it's just a backup; I haven't used it]
2. Get EventGhost (http://www.eventghost.org/downloads/). I used v0.4.1r1640.
3. Open EventGhost and open up my XML (x10medion xbmc 13 11 25 - eventghost.xml), provided in folder nr. 2.
4.... hmmm.. i guess there is no 4. You are done Smile

Specials:
- I used the RENAME button on the remote as Menu, since other buttons are getting old.
- There is a repeat macro under volume and arrow buttons. Otherwise you need to click everytime, now you can hold.
- I used the arrow to the left, just below 9, as backspace. It seemed the most appropriate.

p.s. I couldn't place all the functions, but most basic functions are provided for. You can always use EventGhost to edit the controls, it is very easy. Just add the macro (or edit one), push a button on the remote and drag the LOG Event on the left to the function you want it to perform.

Good luck!
