Hi All,

I think I already know the answer, but thought that I would just quickly check anyway

I have an addon that would require users to change the advancedsettings.xml to exclude some "Extras Files":

Add-on:VideoExtras

Is it allowed for me to add a button to the settings screen to "auto-update" the advancedsettings.xml file for them. This would obviously be manually called by the user to add the required settings if they do not already exist in the file.

(Or maybe an interface some-where that I can use via python to add/change entries in the file)

I didn't know if this would be allowed in the official repo - it is a user action that does it - and only via settings.

It's technically against the rules, but once they can see the code and if you have it clearly marked what it died and etc, maybe you can get an exception?
