Add-In Doesn't Load Channels
#1
Actually, I have two problems.

I have two computers - one acting as my PVR server and the other as a PVR client. Here are the specs...
- Primary PVR - Win 7 Ultimate, Ceton InfiniTV, serverWMC, XBMC Frodo with the WMC PVR add-in installed
- Client - Win 8, XBMC Frodo and WMC PVR add-in installed

The first problem I'm having is the client machine appears to connect to the serverWMC and downloads the channel lineup; however, the channels are not listed in the Live-TV channels. If I linger too long in the XBMC channel list XBMC will hang. The Win 7 machine did the same thing for a while - several days - until it magically started working again.

The second problem I'm having is that the Win 7 machine will show a green screen when viewing live TV. After rebooting a couple times I was able to get a TV channel to work and was able to switch between channels ok. Now I don't get anything but a green screen for any TV channel. Although I haven't been able to duplicate the conditions I did notice the green screen came back when I went from an HD channel to standard, or from standard to HD.

Hopefully I described things well enough for some help.

Thanks.

how do things work in windows media centre itself?

can you also upload a ServerWMC server log to pastebin and put the link in here

on the debug tab, turn off "delete termporary files". Then in your recorded TV\TempXBMC folder (this may be a hidden folder so make sure you set explorer to show hidden folders if you cant see it) there will be WTV files and TS files. Try playing these files in XBMC video section, and in another player. Also try setting a recording for a future program on a channel, then when the recording is finished try playing it from XBMC etc.

WMC works fine on the Win 7 machine. Recordings work and live TV works regardless of source resolution.

Log files pending.

I'm sorry for the delay in getting the logs to you...

Here is the XBMC debugging log (http://pastebin.com/vTtR5Rkj)
Here is the serverWMC debugging log (http://pastebin.com/PVWbd84x)

At this point I've been able to isolate the problem to live channels above 413 when viewing through XBMC. Live TV works works fine - both SD and HD - for channels 413 and below. Recorded TV works fine in XBMC regardless of channel. Everything works fine in WMC regardless of channel.

pastebin is claiming the pastes have been removed. Can you re-upload them?

Also going back to your original post, you were having issues with hanging on the channel screen, is that still an issue?

And regarding the 2nd problem to clarify, when talking about PR in XBMC (not WMC) - live and recorded works ok for <413. Recordings on >413 work OK. Live TV on >413 gives a green screen?

Also just confirming you have updated to the latest build for ServerWMC backend and pvr.wmc frontend that were uploaded yesterday?

You need to trim the bracket off the end of the links

silly me for not noticing that Smile

bprocket it would be good to have a full server log rather tha ncut down. Anyway though from what i can see there arent any errors on the server side. The client log is to hard to go through. It would be good if you can provide WTV and TS files from the TempXBMC directory (turn off the option on Debug tab to delete temporary files so they dont get deleted).

Is the full log: http://pastebin.com/KzFHcfEh

I'll send you some WTV and TS files if you can tell me how? Can't seem to get them into paste bin.

pastebin is only for text files. WTV files will be quite large video files, you would need to upload them to somewhere krusty's google drive. He has put the link in other posts on here Im pretty sure.

Now anyway with your problem, can you provide some commentary on what you were doing during this latest server log? Eg it looks like you have 2 clients running, 1 cant access the server over the network, the other one "appears" to be changing channels OK and not telling the server about any errors. However it seems you have 6 tuner devices over 700 channels and a crapload of them reported as DRM copy protected, but probably have the setting in ServerWMC unchecked to hide these from XBMC. So if you are trying to watch copy protected channels in XBMC then it simply isnt going to work and there is no point in uploading files etc.

For example i can see the last channel you attempt to view in the log is KCBS/2 which showed up earlier in the GetChannels request as DRM'ed - PROT_COPY_ONCE. Normally ServerWMC wouldnt even send this channel to XBMC unless you untick the box to hide DRM channels. This is a debug feature for some setups where eventhough the channel is flagged as copy protected, it actually isnt. In your case unfortunatley it sounds like it is flagged as copy protected and actually IS copy protected... meaning only Windows Media Centre can decode it, and you wont be able to use XBMC with our addon...

In XBMC on the client "bprocket-htpc" I opened a channel that works (channel 2) then a channel that doesn't (channel 416).

Both channels 2 and 416 are listed in the log as PROT_COPY_ONCE. Because channel 2 works fine in XBMC we're concluding it isn't actually protected. Because channel 416 displays a green screen in XBMC we're concluding it is protected. Am I interpreting the log and your comments correctly?

For future reference, try to post a server log that shows the minimum activity possible to indicate your problem... Because the server log you have posted shows all the following! Smile

20:58:19 bprocket-htpc connects

20:59:27 bprocket-htpc disconnects

20:59:34 bpr-core-01 connects

21:00:59 bprocket-htpc connects

21:04:18 bpr-core-01 attempts to watch channel 414 but reports StreamStartError (this normally means it cant access the live recording over the network, so check access to the share (\\BPROCKET-HTPC\Recorded TV\TempXBMC\LiveTV_bpr-core-01_Digital Cable_414_2013_12_16_21_04_18.ts)

21:04:40 bpr-core-01 channel 415. StreamStartError

21:04:56 bpr-core-01 channel 2. StreamStartError

21:05:21 bpr-core-01 is stopped and restarted

21:05:50 bpr-core-01 channel 410. StreaStartError

21:05:50 bpr-core-01 Channel 2. StreamStartError

21:06:28 bpr-core-01 Channel 411. StreamStartError

21:07:03 bprocket-htpc disconnect

21:07:21 bprocket-htpc connect

21:08:52 bprocket-htpc channel 416 (shown as PROT_COPY_FREE)

21:19:57 bprocket-htpc channel 2 (shown as PROT_COPY_ONCE)

21:22:06 bprocket-htpc disconnect

So from this it seems that your bpr-core-01 machine is having network share issues which should be resolved. And based on your commentary of the last 2 entries, where the bprocket-htpc watches channel 416 then channel 2, you are sayng that 416 displayed green screen but 2 worked ok? That is quite strange since the PROT_COPY flags on those seem to be the other way around (2 FREE 416 protected)! Meanwhile earlier when the channels themselves were loaded, both were flagged as protected in the EPG/channel info...

Normally the green screen does mean it's DRMed though but yes if you can upload the WTV and TS files for the 2 channels (on debug tab untick "delete temporary stream files" then they will be the TempXBMC files referred to in the log) we can take a look.

You can upload the samples to my google drive here https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0...sp=sharing
