Solved Where is the shutdown menu?
#1
I did a minimal install like described in the Radeon VDPAU thread. When I click on the shutdown button the only option showed is "Quit", which just restarts XBMC. How can I get the other options for shutdown, reboot, etc. back?

That's because you didn't follow the guide. You need to add the /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/custom-actions.pkla file as mentioned in the guide.

I did add this file exactly as described and I looked especially for the things mentioned that could be made wrong.

Quote:(don't introduce line breaks, especially the Action= line must be exactly one line (especially no linebreaks or auto ".." in freedesktop.udisks.*)

Everything seems to be fine with that file. Check the pastebin: http://paste.ubuntu.com/6490520/
(Made with sudo cat /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/custom-actions.pkla | pastebinit)

Any other suggestions?

sudo apt-get install consolekit

That package is needed and was not in the original 13.10 how-to (used to be a dependency on it so it got installed in 13.04 anyhow).

@eroxm: it seems I was too quick to jump to conclusions, sorry about that.
