Is it possible to create an advancedsettings.xml entry to substitute the Home Folder Path?

My aim is to create on "central" xbmc setup and with the use of <pathsubstitution>, clone all (5) other installations.
Same skin, same skin configuration, same addons, same addon configurations same libraries etc. This way, I could make changes to the central system and have those changes propagate to all installations

I know libraries can be shared via MySQL but, I am trying to replicate the 'PLEX' client / server configuration

Would a <pathsubstitution> for the home folder accomplish this?

nope. Not everything will properly read the path substitution, and there are several files and db's that are not designed to be shared that way and can be corrupt or messed up by sharing that way. The safe userdata stuff to pathsub is mentioned in the "syncing other parts" section of the MySQL (wiki) guide.

I had some problems setting up MySQL.. I think I will uninstall MySQL and start all over using the link you provided

Should I use the latest MySQL version? Or is it best to use a previous version?
Is it best to install everything or minimal installation
