I have a customer of mine who saw my xbmc stuff and was wondering if there is a box out there still that would support component as he does not have HDMI.
Is there some kind of converter that would do hdmi to component? Or is there a box that still supports that? I know the ATV 1 has component but if i understand in order to make open elec run through component you have to edit some file and its a little more then i want to do.

Maybe you should ask the customer more specific what the device is that uses the component interface. Maybe the screen specs aren't that great with the result that XBMC will look like....., well..., you know

Maybe not by HDMI but by DVI is an alternative? So DVI to component and besides that, 2 more plugs with audio left/right from analog audio out.
