v18 live TV - no timeshifting??
#1
Looks like live TV - just using the channels - doesn't offer any backspace capabilities anymore. All I get offered on a OK push is Stop (square) and Record (circle). Pressing left or right doesn't do anything - so no possibility to go back in the buffer... Pro'bly related to the counter being out and GetStreamTimes PVR API not being implemented as ksooo states... Krustyreturns - I see you are doing stuff on the add-on - any chance of fixing this??

Awesome Krusty...
Not trying to push at all here, (just trying to manage what little spare time there is these days) but how long does it usually take for a PR to be approved and merged?
I'll hold off going back to Alpha3 if it usually doesnt take long.
Or are there any quick and dirty compile instructions?

My experience is - if they accept the PR - it can be in a nightly within a day or two.  So far I have not heard anything though.  As for building pvr.wmc yourself, I only have experience building it for windows and I don't find it easy at all.  If that's of interest to you I can pass on where to start.

Actually if anyone is interested in testing the windows version, you can copy mine.  Its here:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0...sp=sharing

Its compiled for the 64b version of Kodi18 only.

Kodi with the new version of pvr.wmc (2.4.0) that fixes kodi18 timeshifting is out in nightly (KodiSetup-20180911-ae396e22-master-x64.exe) or newer.   Thanks @Drexyl .

Make sure to use it with version 1251 of serverwmc or newer.

Brilliant - just tested and looks fine. Makes V18 Kodi complete - ready for prime time. BTW - never found a backend PVR as solid as MCE - just works!

Not sure 18 is quite ready for Prime Time yet, but it's looking good. Smile

I did give it a good test last night, and the only (new) problem I've noticed is an issue when switching live channels.  The stream stutters, or is jittery.  Occasionally it rectifies itself, but more often than not I had to stop the stream and re-start the channel.

The other issue I did notice was when LiveTV/Media is hidden from playing in the background in skin settings.. The stream starts stuttering to the point it pauses, then when you focus back to the LiveTV, it tries to catch up, causing similar stuttering channels. I have seen this issue before v18 though.

I haven't had a look through logs yet, but if you want me to upload any, let me know.

I can't think of how anything I am doing in pvr.wmc could affect the second problem.  But a serverwmc log for the first problem might be worth looking at.

Yeah I don't think that second one is necessarily a pvr.wmc issue.
No worries.. I'll post up some logs tonight when at home.

Just a quick post to say nightly (KodiSetup-20180913-e313d39f-master-x64.exe) fixed the first issue.
