Xbmc mirrors down
#16
Is there a way to get Frodo on an Apple TV 2 with xbmc mirrors being down? I am able to get Eden. But I cannot upgrade to Frodo. I have tried ssh, atv flash, and nito TV.

A fresh install will give you issues even if you manually download XBMC directly from a local mirror since XBMC won't be able to update scrapers and other add-ons that have been fixed since 12.2 has been released.

It's possible, but the Team would like to discourage people try this at this time, due to the complicated steps involved.

Xbmc.org repo empty. Forced refresh not working. Deleted add on info in profile refreshed. No good.
Just after a fresh install. Still no good. Running latest raspbmc on pi. Any help appreciated to get add ond listed in xbmc.org repo. Thanks in advance

I assume this would be the reason my new install of OpenELEC Rasp Pi won't show anything in the repo. Tried everything to get it to work, but makes sense if the mirror is down. Hope it's up and working soon.

Any idea when the mirrors will be up again? I have been trying to download for 2-3 days.

Hello! I am doing apt-get update and I get 90% [Connecting to mirrors.xbmc.org], it is stuck there, then it shows the following:

ive tried everything and actually just joined the forums myself in search of the answer, ive tried everything. Went searching for hours on google. If anyone has a solution please help us. Cant get past this, cant connect to mirrors.xbmc.org, not sure if its down. The jailbreak goes through perfectly, but not even nito installer will get xbmc onto the device

Where can we find directions to the complicated fix? Have tried everything from into installer to manually inputting via putty. Can't get xbmc on any apple tvs No matter what I try.

Hey all,

I am new to XBMC and am in the process of trying to customize to my liking. I have noticed that I am not able to install any add-ons from the xbmc.org repository. I am able to from other ones, like "repo-all" after manually installing the repository from a zip file. I am also not able to install/change the skin through the software. I receive an error message that all files are not installed. When I manually add the skin.xx file into the addons folder, I am then able to switch to the skin via the software. I have also noticed then when attempting to update add-ons, it stays at "downloading 0%" for a minute and then goes away without actually updating the add-on. Am I missing something? I'm currently running XBMC 12.2 on a Windows 8, 64 bit system.

I had the same issue as well and still am with my Windows 8 build. I was, however, able to manually add the "skin.xx" into %appdata%/xbmc/addons and then switch over to that skin within the GUI. Hoping to find a better fix for the long run though...

yesterday i jailbroke my apple tv 2 running on 5.3 at my office on my desktop and everything ran perfectly, and installed xbmc through nittotv. when i got home i found out i had to tetherboot from same computer as i jailbroke it with once i unplugged the power. fine. however today i re-jailbroke my apple tv with season pass twice and tryed to install xbmc through nittotv and it keeps telling me that it was installed successfully however, the icon does not show up in apple tv. any suggestions? i am unaware of how to install it through ssh commands. any help would be greatly appriciated.

I downloaded the XBMC app for Android last night. When I go to enable addons and try the XBMC.org and PVR repos they are empty. I have tried to do a force refresh and restart--still nothing. :-( I have tried to clear all data from the android app info. I have also tried to delete addons**.db and then tried the repos again. Also, every repo I add (ex. Bluecop and Icefilms) all come up with broken packages: dependencies not met.

I don't know if it is just Android, since the download link for Windows isn't working.

I am not sure where to go from here.

It might be related to this forum announcement. I'd suggest trying again once the issues mentioned are resolved
