I was organizing my notes on my XBMC installation and I wanted to post them in the event it can benefit a newbie somewhere in this world. I wish these were available when i started.

You could probably have posted this on the xbmc wiki which is a more centralized and likely place to be found easily rather than some decentralized pdf in a forum post which will get buried quickly in these fast paced and alive forums.

I have "asked" in a manner of speaking for a moderator to move this to How-to Forums which is also less busy.

Yes you need to ask a moderagor to move thread. I pressed repor and asked for it. Clearly it wasnt understood. Just send a mkderator a pm

Just a note, I think the adding libcec is wrong:

add-apt-repository is not a line to "add" - it is a command to run, there is no need to edit sources.list at all. running
Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pulse-eight/libcec
does all the editing you need.

Just a typo I am sure.

Also grub modifications, "quiet" not "quite"

Sickbeard, "Latest" not "Lasted"

Configure sickbeard: http:// not http:\\

I made your edits, thanks for the read.

I am not sure on libcec - i remember having to install them. but then again it was an early release. I have removed that part. Better not confuse anyone if a cannot confirm.
