Windows media remote compatibility and config
#1
Dear Guys,

Bit of a noob here - just putting together a Intel NUC with Win7 and had a few questions ;

1) Have a xbox media remote (the black one not the old white one) - from what I understand with a registry fix this should work ok with xbmc ?

2) I believe there is a way to boot straight into xbmc when starting up the NUC ? again is that a reg fix ?

3) Also with picking up network drives/folders (with movies. music. tv etc) is there a specific naming nomenclature required ?

Thanks and apologies if there are other threads that explain the above already !

thats for the help and will know in the future not to bump before a day !

1) the remote in question is the http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msuk..._GooglePLA

2) and 3) excellent just what I was after !

....also as I am getting the Intel NUC (Intel® NUC Kit D54250WYK) and that comes with a "Consumer infrared sensor on the front panel" would I be right in thinking I wouldnt need another infra red sensor for the above MS Media remote ?

Thanks again Mayoman Smile

Should be suitable - most IR remotes work on similar frequencies, though you may need to tweak settings per this link (older version though I assume new one is similar)

hmmm after using the regedit from http://xbmccustomregis.sourceforge.net/support.html with net framework 4.5 and the IR driver installed still get nothing from MS black remote. old white xbox 360 one OR harmony one remote.

Running win 7 64 bit.

Any help would be appreciated !
