Windows 7: Unable to create GUI. Exiting
#1
Hi there,

I've just installed XBMC on a fresh Windows 7 setup and get the error "Umable to create GUI. Exiting.".

The error message is: ERROR: CRenderSystemDX::CreateDevice - unable to create a device. 8876086A - D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE (Not available)
Here is the complete debug log (xbmc.exe --debug and loglevel 3 via advancedsettings.xml): http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=105591

any Ideas how to fix this? All Drivers (latest versions I guess) have been installed today from the manufacturere's websites.

Thanks in adance,
Tom.

Some of the gfx drivers are culprits, instead of the latest driver try one of the older ones at least a generation back.

If you're using older AMD hardware then try the 12.10 drivers.

Thank you. 3D acceleration was broken for some weird reason. Downgrading to 12.10 fixed the issue. An Update to the latest driver afterwarts worked too.

Glad it works, pressing the +/- button would be appreciated Smile
