3 leds in a 10 led strip stuck blue??
#1
Can someone help me? I bought a lightpack and it was working perfectly until my wife apparently accidentally touched the metal leads with a HDMI end and caused it to flash. The blue still changes color slightly but its always blue or green.

I'll try to post a pic now...

The bottom inside 3 are the ones.

Hopefully this is in the right section...

Hard to say for definite without putting a meter on it, but sounds very much as if she has shorted out a portion of a strip and knocked out the red l.e.d's.

The issue could also be in the PWM controller though, although thats probably a little less likely from looking at your photo. Replacement of the offending strip is probably gonna be the only cure available to you Sad

Yea, It's unfortunate but I just put some tape over those three lights. Doesn't really bother anything since I have the stand in the middle at the bottom anyway, and theres a larger gap there to begin with.

Thanks for the reply and sorry took so long to get back.

Or you could replace that portion of led's?

I'd buy the same from china and replace them. These are the cheapest rgb leds, i'd say 30 leds per meter from your picture.

Easy to replace. Just cut out the defekt lights and solder back. The old ide cable (it has tinny copper wires) is very usefull when repairing those lights.

These are regular RGB LED's, not separate controllable "Pixel LED". Don't they light up individually? You will probably need the WS2801 variant as I count 4 wires. 3 wires would probably be WS2811. I don't see any chips on the strips though, wich is strange. Maybe contact the manufacturer directly?

One stripe one channel. Believe me this are regular non controller based rgb leds and not ws2811.

Sorry I haven't replied. My email was going to an old account. I really just have them covered. It would be easy enough to just cut out and re solder the wires to a new strip.

For the record, these are the NON ws2801 Strips. Not individually controlled LEDs. Just the whole strip.
