Using a GamePad on My XBMC
#1
Hi There

I just bought a wireless gamepad and would like to use it to control my XBMC android server. The left right up and down controls are working but cannot get the buttons to work to control various functions. Can someone help me in setting this up. I am a bit new to this level of customisation but somewhere read that I need to add keymap ?

Your help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

Glynn

I managed to create a keymap.xml on my PC version of XBMC whioch would take the keys using the link teeedubb gave me. It is working great on PC.

Can I now take this keymap.xml and port it to my android box ? Where do I have to place it in ?

but i guess it depends on whether your pc and android device see the keypresses as the same at a operating system level.

Will try Smile Thanks to Teeedubb !

There is no /.xbmc/userdata/keymap/ folders under ->Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/ (just says empty folder) .... Do you reckon I should simply create these and place the keypad.xml there ?

At least I got the gist of the system. If buttons do not work the same way as they do on PC I can always experiment with values to try to get it right Smile

Thanks !

I havent done much tweaking with android so i cant say for sure, but are there other files in that org,xbmc,xbmc/files/.xbmc folder? you may have to look around for the correct path
