hi, i'm looking at getting an xbox just for media center, but i have a question. i couldn't find the answer by searching, so i'm posting on the forums.
does xbox media center allow for gapless audio playback? ie, remixes, songs that blend into each other (sergeant pepper's lonely hearts club band turning into with a little help from my friends) have a split second pause when i play the mp3's through my ipod but not through say, foobar2000.
xbox and gapless audio playback?

if it's compressed with lame or a similarly gapless encoder, then yes, it will be gapless.
if you use foobar with no extra processing stuff to reduce gaps, and it still plays gapless, then they will be gapless in xbmc. Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting. Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules. stuff i've encoded using itunes plays gapless too.
also if you have the album as one big track you can use a cuesheet for gapless playback (i've used this for both mp3 and m4a playback). |
