Can you get me a sample of this file? Cut it with ffmpeg, please? It loooks so damn broken - never seen such a thing.

Also please provide me: dmesg | pastebinit I fear there is something more wrong than just kodi.

See ffmpeg cut tutorial, here: http://superuser.com/questions/138331/us...t-up-video

Sorry, i cannot install ffmpeg. My OS (elementary OS) uses avconv.

Works perfectly on my system using pulseaudio :-)

Can you try on a sane system? E.g. not elementary OS?

I guess it depends on the OS i'm using: elementary...! On my laptop (elementary OS, now with Isengard) the same problem...
No, for now i can't test a "sane" system. Maybe i'll set up a VM, takes a little time... stay tuned.

Oh no, Ubuntu 15.04 and Isengard in a VM have the same problem - absolutely no clue whats wrong?!? What does my dmesg log say to you?
Next step: Openelec on a Raspi to test all (ok, a few) movies, if they're corrupt.

You can install the img to a usb stick (OE) und boot into live mode (on your x86), by entering: live at the boot prompt and see.

Hi, recently I had to rebuild my Linux box. Previously I was running Debian Wheezy with Kodi 14. This time I installed Jessie and built Kodi 14.2 from scratch. So far so good. Kodi runs from the gnome desktop no problem. Next I configured it to run Kodi standalone from runlevel 3. No sound. sound works perfectly well when Kodi runs in Gnome, no sound in standalone mode. What can be the problem? Any ideas?

Not kodi related ... please ask in #debian howto take care that soundserver / audio devices are ready when you start your custom session.

OK, I will thanks. I do have a After = systemd-user-sessions.service network.target sound.target network-online.target line in my systemd script, and I tried to run kodi after booting in the runlevel 3 with command systemctl start kodi so I assumed soundserver / audio devices are ready by then. Somehow that did not work...

Hi

In order to make my xbmc gotham bit perfect (yes. im an audiophile) I modified pulseaudio client.conf to not to start at boot and also added the ae_sink =alsa to the xbmc init script.

How do i make sure xbmc is now using alsa and not pulse for flac/mp3 audio playback?

Tnx

What shall I expect to see there?

You should see AESinkALSA in there and failed to create pulseaudio context.

yep I see ALSA mentioned there.

I also see xbmc is getting audio parameters from advancedsettings.xml
so I assume ALSA is activated

thanks for the help!
