Since a view days I use Aeon Nox Redux 5.1.1 Skin on XBMC 13.0 Now I'm experience one problem, by the Music section I can't change the view to Wall, by the Movie and TV Shows sections I can change the views. The only view type I may use by Music is List. Does someone has a solution for me? I've searched the enitre topic, but can't find someone with the same problem or al solution for this.

@Morris: thats because you use the music files instead of the library. Adding views to that is still on my to do list. Will do that with next update i think.

I'm sure you could improve that view further by putting a line of code to stop the font changes from affecting views in the TV sections.

OK... I removed the global search add-on and the search bar on the home screen is gone indeed now .

BigNoid, is it possible at present to have the recently added widget match the smart playlist you add it to (in the home screen)? I have two movie smart playlists - but the widget just seems to feed off the general movie database when I add it. You said that might be possible somewhere in the future before Gotham went stable, so I was wondering if I was missing something or just looking for something that isn't there. Thanks

Make a smart playlist with condition "recently added" for the playlist in question (You would then have a default and recently added version of the same playlist). You can then create a widget based off that new playlist.

That is as simple as it is brilliant... Don't know why I didn't think of this myself, really.

Noticed something today. In my TV Shows section I use banner wall ever since Nox 4. However in Nox 5 all of my banners appear to be too big for the banner and the artwork is cut of. However if I highlight a banner it zooms out and I can see the entire thing. Any ideas?

BTW I have verified my screen is set to 16:9 the resolution is 1280x720p and I even ran the calibration to make sure the screen fir perfectly.

There is no audio flag for PCM 5.1 soundtracks. The example is 5.1 PCM track from an uncompressed .mkv rip:

Dear all. Registered today after years of just following to say thanks to all the people contributing to make xbmc even better. Great job indeed!

I have been using Aeon Nox for quite a while but without fiddling too much with it, because you know, I didn't have the time... : ) Now my library grew quite a bit in the last months, and I finally managed to add all my anime series and movies. So I wanted to customize the look a bit. I put them on the main menu using smart playlists. This looks good and all, but I would look even better if I had random fanart displaying in the background on the main menu. As far as I know (I googled... A LOT), at present it's not possible to do this in Aeon Nox. If I use the movie or tv show random fanart, animes and normal movies are thrown into one big mix. Since the random and last items script is not used in Aeon Nox anymore (according to its programmer), the only option is to use the view with the DVD cases scattered around with the covers of the items on the playlist. While it is a nice gimmick, it doesn't fit my otherwise very clean look of Nox. Is there any chance I missed something, or is this just not possible? May this option eventually be implemented at a later point in time?

I really love Aeon Nox, it covers 99% of my needs. It has all the bells and whistles, and still manages to look simple and clean. Also, it seems to be lightweight, it's a breeze to use. If I could find a way to display the amazing anime fanart in the background of the main menu, it would be 100% perfect for me : )

I just switched to NOX 5 on Gotham and have two questions:
1. Is there a possibility to have animated backgrounds and effects like in NOX4?
2. This bothers me most - widget of new episodes and new movies. I'm using Sickbeard and Couchpotato to download content and in NOX4 I was able to have a widget with latest 6 I think movies and TV shows displayed above menu. Now I have only one, I have to navigate to it to see the full list, but for Episodes it's not sorted.

Besides it's a very good skin, but still not as good as NOX 4 regarding the customisation.

There are no zoom animations on bannerwall in nox5?

At this time its not possible. I'm still looking for a good way to implement this.

1. Not without a mod.
2. Another widget layout will come if I fond a good one. To me this widget fits the best with a fanart orientated home screen. If the episode widgets dont fit your needs, you can always make a smart playlist that does fit your needs and use that as a widget.

I have SORT-OF done what you are talking about. I have smart playlist (DVDs, Kids DVDs, Baby DVDs, Home Videos, etc) as menu items and I wanted random fanart from the applicable playlist to be shown in the background behind it. When using a smart playlist as a menu item there is no option in the setup screen to use random fanart. SO... what I did was use an add-on called Artwork Organizer (or something like that). This basically scrapes all the fanart and puts it into individual folders based on the generic library that it's associated with (Videos, TV Shows, Music, etc). From there I just created my own "Background" folders (one for DVD Backgrounds, one for Kids DVD backgrounds, etc) and then simply copied and pasted the applicable image files (they are named based on movie title) from the Add-On folder location into my newly created folders.

From there I set the menu item to use "multi image background" and pointed it to the applicable folder. A bit tedious but actually works quite well. Without using the add-on it would be far too tedious to mess with because the image files would be spread all over the place. The add-on gets them all into one spot and you can simply copy/paste/organize them how you want (just don't MOVE them because it will kill all your fanart) for setting up background images in Aeon Nox.

It's a very good skin, no bad word! Today I found the Visualisation Settings doesn't work (Keyboard controls: v). Just a tip for the update list. :-)
