If you want to experiment sometime, there is a free program called ccextactor
http://ccextractor.sourceforge.net/using...ndows.html

this program is supposed to be able to strip out the cc from wtv and make an srt file. How well it works, or whether it works with xbmc, I don't know. If you ever try it, let us know what you find.

I tried 0.69 of ccextractor and ran it on several of my ts files created by tvheadend, but the srt files would not give me subtitles in xbmc. VLC does give me closed captions from these same ts files.

I am patiently waiting for Kodi-15 myself according to this ticket http://trac.kodi.tv/ticket/15523
