Create a Livestream link in xbmc? strm?
#1
My local news uses a livestream feed to regularly show our local news. Is there a way to pull this into xbmc either thru an addon or maybe a strm file?

Here is the site for the stream channel:

http://new.livestream.com/whbq/live

or

http://new.livestream.com/accounts/63707...ts/2591867

they both seem to stream the news live when the channel does.

Thanks if anyone can help. My roommate only really watches the news from this channel on cable, and if i can get it on xbmc, I could save him the trouble of $30 a month cable bill to just get local news that we cannot get thru an antenna.

Much thanks!

Can anyone give me a tip on where to go with this? I have looked at other threads and I have seen where others ahve asked similar questions with no response.

How can I sniff out the actual link to this live feed to put into a strm file?

Is there or why hasnt there been a Livestream.com addon?

We had some more threads about livestream.com, but people abused those threads with other "livestream" (not necessarily livestream.com streams) requests that were for pirated/bootleg sources of live TV content. It's very frustrating, because it makes legitimate requests, like yours, harder to get help with.

I haven't done much in that area myself, but we do have this thread that has survived and has some good info: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=109363

I think the problem at this point is trying to sniff out the URL in the first place.

Indeed, the problem is to sniff the stream in the first place, when you sniff from livestream.com it doesn't give you anything resembling a stream. Has anybody come up with a good solution yet?

is the stream for new.livestream.com/wood/live

However, it doesn't seem to want to play on my g-box

OK so I managed to get the video to play via the following link:
http://livestream-f.akamaihd.net/1853498...0.3&fp=WIN 13,0,0,214&r=VSFUP&g=USTRAGOWMTNH&seek=43263 playpath=http://cdn.livestream.com/swf/LSPlayer.swf

but it stops after a few second.

You could also try http://livestream-f.akamaihd.net/1853498...756@188541

This is again for MY local news, but it may give you a start, I have had limited luck getting this to work.
