OS X w/Laptop, do I mirror screens or not?
#1
Very new to all this.

Set up xbmc on a dedicated laptop attached to my beautiful Panasonic P65GT50.

Before xbmc, I had been streaming movies from browsers using the Panasonic as a separate screen (NOT mirroring). All had been fine, I was able to see full screen movies out of any browser by dragging the browser to this 'second' monitor. A bit clumsy and hands on, but worked.

However, with xbmc, since it's an application and not a browser, 1) I cannot figure out how to move the image to the Panasonic. And 2) If I mirror the Panasonic from my laptop, the image is there on the Panasonic, but smaller than full frame, with a black frame around it.

Please let me know if you have any ideas as to the proper work flow for all this.

I should add I've been using Roomie Remote for about two years and plan to have Roomie control xbmc when I figure out the screen situation.
thanks.

Don't mirror, and in XBMC go to Settings -> System -> Video output -> Display mode -> and select "Fullscreen #2", and that will put XBMC on the second screen.
