Just updated the first post to reflect this does definitely have SPDIF output, combo with 3.5mm jack, you can see it labelled in the gallery
Addons I wrote &/or maintain:
OzWeather (Australian BOM weather) | Check Previous Episode | Playback Resumer | Unpause Jumpback | XSqueezeDisplay | (Legacy - XSqueeze & XZen)

Looks good and I mostly have faith in Shuttle (even if they never fixed the ION2 1080p jitter bug = the machine istelf is solid). I have the original XS35GT still running behind my dining room tv (for watchign news, music). Works a treat still as long as you stick to a light skin.
So seems a logical successor.

A few look to be on ebay, a little bit too expensive though unfortunately.

Looks like they can be bought from Germany for around £220-230 which doesn't seem too bad.
Anyone know how capable the nvidia 820M is for deinterlacing?

I bit the bullet and bought one for £232 from Germany.
I'll report back when I get it.
It came in around the same price as an AMD A1 system (but with only 2GB RAM) and cheaper than an NUC.

Sounds very interesting!
May I ask where you bought it from? Also, be great if you could check if it outputs 5.1 via the Spdif jack (pity its at the front but as long as it works) and via HDMI.
Memory upgradable?
Thanks,

Currently having installing Ubuntu (due to UEFI issues I think).
OpenElec went on fine but only seems to recognise the Intel graphics and not the nvidia ones. Not had much time to play yet though.
