Hi Folks,
I'm using the latest nightly of Gotham (XBMCSetup-20140218-f6f539a-master.exe), and a .sub file in the same directory as my movie does not display any subtitles on screen. I have also tried with Frodo 12.3, and the behaviour is the same.
I used an online service to convert the .sub to a .srt, and the converted file does display subtitles.
The movie played through vnc does display the subtitles using either the .sub or the .srt file.
In addition to the two .fr. subtitle files, I also have a .en.srt file - it displays properly.
Debug Log: http://pastebin.com/QWVREAtN
Not Working (Ghost Busters.dvd.fr.sub): http://pastebin.com/Aj4ZaBfm
Working (Ghost Busters.dvd.fr.srt): http://pastebin.com/Gp2WYvA2
I looked through the debug log, and see notices every time I hit L to change the language, but no errors. Nothing in the log seems to indicate that subtitles are shown or not shown, so you'll have to trust me that I see subtitles display for the two .srt files and not for the .sub.
Is there something broken in the code that processing the .sub file, or does the file have incorrect formatting?
Cheers,
Dave.
