Intel NUC - Bay Trail (Celeron Generation CPU) - DN2820FYKH
Hi xbs08 It does have 2 HDMI ports but HDMI 1 has not worked for about 5 years. I maybe stuck with the ouya for a bit longer.

Grab the Drivers from the Intel Page: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchR...amilyId=36

Or just get the the driver Bundle, updated just yesterday:

How about XBMC install for windows?

What is there to ask? Either grab the 12.3 installer, or the 13.0 beta (oh, no longer beta, we are in RC(1) status now) Installer from the XBMC website. Nothing more to care about installing, except configuring audio for passthrough if necessary. <- Which I have yet to figure out myself why this isn't working for me, but I'm still waiting for a reply Sad

I have been following this thread for sometime now and it has been very helpful.
Unfortunatelly I have a problem and that is why Iam writing today.
I have a nuc 2820 running openelec (3.95.7) connected to a pioneer vsx 922 and i only get PCM signal.
My connection is NUC -> VSX 922 -> TV.
Has anyone had a similar problem and if so is there a solution to it??
Thank you
You're not specifying how you connect - SPDIF (optical/coaxial) or HDMI? And, did you activate passthrough and the appropriate supported audio formats in XBMC?

How are you connecting to your equipment? Your OS of flavour, UEFI/Legacy settings? And is this pertaining to any particular audio format, or all encoded (multichannel) audio?
If I have helped you or increased your knowledge - please click the plus to the left below to give thanks

got my nucs from amazon's reseller and they're both H22962-101, they have a manuf date of April 18, 2014.... you sure they are stopping the production of them, that's pretty darn recent.

Compared to the Haswell i3 NUC, what are the pros/cons of BayTrail?

pros - cheaper, maybe less compatibilty issues (still true?), not future proof
cons - higher power draw, may not have enough cpu for interlacing/filters

Is there any reason to get Haswell if I plan to use the XBMC internal player only? Can both do 3d?

These can do 3D - http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034162.htm

HDMI from my NUC to my TV, which is capable of decoding both AC3 and DTS. OS is Windows 8. UEFI is activated, but I was unable to enable secure boot cause it rejected all my methods I had for installing Windows 8. I have not tested much, I think I just tested AC3, yet. I can try DTS in a sec.

After reading above linked article about 2820 defects, isn't it better to wait till 2830 is out?

What defects exactly? The new BIOS, fixed a lot of them. Is anything left?
