I could not find anything related to it. Would it be possible to use the DHT11 temperature and Humidity sensor and display its values on the main Raspbmc screen? Would be great if I could see the humidity and temperature on the main screen.

WebIOPi is a web interface for I2C & SPI hardware on raspberry Pi.
I've been able to install & run this as a service on RaspBMC & then from a PC browser set & view attached hardware.
If interested I can send you my SSH session notes I used to Install as a service.

If a XBMC Python script was written it could use WebIOPi service on the RaspBMC to then display or control connected hardware.
I am stuck here as well - please let me know if you find something that works.
I'm not verse with XBMC Python, but would love to work with anyone wanting to create a working XBMC Plugin.
