MCE Remote not working

Question
Good day people,

i've got one headaching problem over here, i updated my HTPC with a little bit of new equipment a couple of months ago. (hardware listed below) now the case is, eversince i've upgraded my hardware my MCE remote (or IR Receiver) is'nt working anny more. so tried installing Windows 7 and ran XBMC from out there, i didn't liked it at all but atleast my remote functioned like it should but now i got some time of and installed XBMCbuntu again.. but after hours and hours of googlesearching i didn't find annything that could work for me. though my Xbox360 Controller does work on plug and play!

This is the onlything that came close enough to try but without succes:
Code:
# modprobe -r nuvoton_cir
# echo "auto" > /sys/bus/acpi/devices/NTN0530\:00/physical_node/resources
# modprobe nuvoton-cir
# dmesg | tail -20
Now, the "Echo" says: "no such file or directory" and the "dmesg" tells me this:

Try plugging the IR receiver into a non-USB3 port Smile I had a similar problem and plugging it into a usb2 port made everything start working magically.

I did plug it in to a USB2 port from the start.

Did you solve this problem? I'm looking at this same motherboard for a new build, but remote functionality is a must.

I wonder if your problem wasn't related to an issue with xhci in linux, http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2203116

I had a problem with this on my last build, solution was to disable xhci in my bios. In the latest release notes for Openelec, it listed that this has been fixed, though I personally haven't upgraded that build yet to see if it worked to resolve.
