Gotham Beta TESTING THREAD
Yep this is true. I did not think we could put blank info there. Thanks to let me know.

BTW. This bug is fixed with latest build (April 18): http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=192381

and there: http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/15127

Confirmed with latest nightly build.

I would appreciate if somebody would take care of it please.

Thanks for having fixed it. Smile

AH! If people conform to this Wink hahaha It would be easier to catch a fart in the wind and paint it yellow. Big Grin

Crash report.
Log can be found here: http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=178468
XBMC version Gotham beta 3.
Computer: Dell Alienware, Windows 8.1 including all updates.

What did I do? (I'm sure not everything is relevant.)
- Rip some cds using eac and store them in my music folder.
- Start XBMC. It automatically scans the new items into the library.
- Listen to the mp3s of 1 album.
- Started playing some random indie game (full screen mode).
- Listen to the mp3s of another album.
- Stopped playing that indie game.
- When these mp3s finished, XBMC crashes immediately (black screen). Had to kill the app.

This happens regularly - every couple of days. So I guess the game part is not relevant.

install latest nightly build.
http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/win32/
also copy the .pdb file into the install folder and name it XBMC.pdb
retry crashing and prove crash and .dmp files through some file sharing service

Below is the portion of the debug log posted previously. The full log was also submitted:

I'm getting this too from livestreams addon.

Someone posted this in another thread.

Dear xbmc team,

First I would like to apologize to open a thread containing a bug ticket in the forum. However, I tried to use trac.xbmc.org, but I got errors submiting the ticket (git not available). I will ask for your help here (or even submiting the ticket).

The message is below:

There is an anoying bug with all versions of gotham with an ok dialogo opening saying xbmc "could not connect to the network server". I've done some digging and found out when the dialog is activated.

Basically, it happens if you call the endOfDirectory function of gotham python api using the succeeded bool as False, like below:

xbmcplugin.endOfDirectory(handle=int(sys.argv[1]), succeeded=False, cacheToDisc=True)

other way to check the error is to create a directory item (isFolder=True) that points to a sys.exit(0) call for example.

This feature is important, as those functions are used for xbmc to stay on the same menu in case there is no items to list. In some platforms, if that error message appear before playback, closing the dialog will result in playback stop/fail.

I would like to fix the issue myself, however I don't have the required knowledge do to so.

Many thanks and all the best

I just tried the latest nightly build (18/04/2014) and noticed this bug is still present. Are there any plans to fix it before the final release?

Thanks for testing. I've pinged the devs again about it again.

I've downloaded the nightly including debugging file as you suggested.
Will get back when more info is available.

It didn't take very long... the current nightly (13.0-BETA4 Git:20140418-4540f80) crashed again at the end of the album.
Perhaps 'crash' isn't the correct word. The XBMC windows has turned black and is not responding. I then have to force-close the app.

Log can be found here: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=178740

Btw: I did copy the corresponding pdb file next to xmbc.exe, but I did not find any .dmp files (I looked in the xbmc install folder and in the xbmc folder on my profile. Am I doing something wrong?

Hello,

with Gotham (both Beta 1 and Beta 3) I have audio sync problems:

Tested on an i3-3225 (with internal GPU and Nvidia GTX760) and on i5-4670 (Nvidia GTX760)

With Frodo I have perfectly synced audio with adjust refresh rate on and A/V Sync off

With Gotham this and also any other combination with adjust refresh rate on (which I think of as essential) and A/V on or off will result in audio starting fine at the beginning of a movie and getting out of sync. Sometimes it's already out of sync from the start.

Is this a known bug?

No. So post a Debug Log as you are the happy founder.

Just went back to 12.3 but I think I'll find the time next week, hope that's soon enough!

Why did you remove the scale function in the appearance settings? Now I can't fit the screen anymore () ATV2.

Not sure whether this has been introduced during beta releases, but I intermittently get severe static, when stopping playback.

Intel® Core™ i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz - drivers updated this morning.

Running Beta 4 through HDMI to an Anthem MRX300 receiver.

This issue wasn't reproducible when using an ATI HD 7850 GFX, but started when I switched to the i5 for playback.

Does it go away if you disable "Keep audio device alive"?

Same with beta3? All betas affected?
