Gotham Beta TESTING THREAD
I did neither see the trac entry nor the logfiles nor a sample somewhere. I don't have such restricted formats myself.

Probably this would help http://download.wavetlan.com/SVV/Media/H...p-wma.html but when users post redundant queries with no information whatsoever I recon the quote was cheap.

Ive added a few more onto AudioEngine#Test_audio_files (wiki) I guess more wouldnt hurt even could have a specific wiki page though tbh I could use some help finding adequate resources.

trac + sample + logfile or we go nowhere.

Can I count on a trac entry until the next morning?

Hi All,

I have raised the following forum, post:

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=192880

I didn't want to duplicate everything here, so thought that I'd just post a link.

The root of the problem appears to be having multiple "extension points" in an addon.xml file. (This works OK in Frodo)

Thanks

Rob

I upload logfile earlier, today I will try upload some wma lossles track sample for you.

Also you can eaisly convert any lossles track to WMA Lossles for example in foobar2000, using WMAenc.exe encoder

Encoder can be found here http://merlins-miranda.googlecode.com/fi...ncoder.zip

Unpack this two files direct to foobar2000 main folder, then run foobar2000 select some lossles track on playlist right click on it select Convert, - Quick convert - Add new select Custom and then select WMAenc.exe location file and add this parameters
-silent -a_codec WMA9LSL -a_mode 2 -a_setting Q100_44_2_16 -input %s -output %d

Also change extension to wma, and format to lossles, and 24bit.

with Gotham (both Beta 1 and Beta 3) I have audio sync problems:

Tested on an i3-3225 (with internal GPU and Nvidia GTX760) and on i5-4670 (Nvidia GTX760)

With Frodo I have perfectly synced audio with adjust refresh rate on and A/V Sync off

With Gotham this and also any other combination with adjust refresh rate on (which I think of as essential) and A/V on or off will result in audio starting fine at the beginning of a movie and getting out of sync. Sometimes it's already out of sync from the start.

Is this a known bug?

As for the request to post a log:

http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=183076

That was with adjust refresh rate on and A/V sync off

Sound output is via a Toslink splitter to my Sonos Playbar.

Someone any idea?

Hi. I found a bug. When the timings of a srt subtitle overlaps xbmc instead of displaying the first above and the second under it shows them exactly in the same place overlapping them. here's a sample of one subtitle that create that problem (rename the subtitle like any video you want, enable the subtitle and go to 9:09): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2219...hot000.png
And here's the screenshot of the result:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2219...hot000.png

I'm using Win 8.1 x64 and xbmc gotham beta4 (but it was the same in beta1, 2 and 3).
I also opened a trac here:
http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/15020

And still no Debug log (wiki) even in that bug report on trac and your random comment.

Maybe because in this case the log has no use whatsoever since it only shows the loading of the subtitle?
Btw here's the log:

What you might find irrelevant in a debug log, might be just 'the ticket' for someone with more intimate knowledge on the subject. This is also the reason why you should not grep the logs, post the whole thing. If you have a technical and/or software-related issue - make it good practice to always include a debug log. Especially when posting trac ^^^ . You just know the very first reply you get will request debug log - so get your help quicker; add the log(s) in your initial posting.
You're not a shiny freshman on this forum, I'd expect you'd picked up on "fat headlines" and the bebug log posting by now.

Line 3 in #1 post in this thread:
When reporting a bug here a log file MUST be provided.

@pr0xZen I'm not also a freshman in how xbmc works and I'm pretty sure in this case it's pointless. I understand very well why they always ask the log (I probably have another bug to report and for that the debug log will help for sure and I'll add it for sure) but the log not always help and in this case is not helpful. It only shows my software (that I already reported), my addons (pointless because I also tried in a clean xbmc), my settings (same of addons) and xbmc that use the subtitle. It is a lot more useful a sample of the subtitle that everyone can try and see what happens.
Probably I would have to post it anyway to get support without problems but it's still useless.

Thanks... interesting... this has never been used to really *watch* XBMC, only to update the shared library, so shouldn't really have anything from previous installations (because nothing's ever really been installed). Even then, an upgrade should have taken care of them ... should it not?

EPG and mysql... no comment, they're both local and neither should trigger a segfault unless there's something really screwed.

Thanks for the comments, though. I'll dig into the log with your pointers but probably will wipe and re-install from scratch.

Just to confirm that a complete purge of XBMC and a re-install, keeping only sources.xml and advancedsettings.xml, and everything seems rock-solid once more. Well, apart from the awful Intel graphics drivers and the lack of support for 'buntu 12.04, but that's hardly your fault. Otherwise, no changes to mysql or the library database within it, to NFS, to the OS, to the tvheadend installation running on the same server.

Moral of the story: don't trust an upgrade, and blame addons before you blame the code.

Thanks to everyone (fritsch in particular).

Mmh - no chance to update to 14.04? It should bring a lot of goodies especially for intel gpu drivers / vaapi and so on.
