Gotham Beta TESTING THREAD
This is a continuation of my issue I've mentioned previously.

With DXVA2 disabled, VC1 encoded ripped blue-rays (I've been testing with Jurassic Park) don't play back well: low FPS and audio sync problems. I can enable it, and playback is fine (so DXVA2 works with my hardware). But then with it enabled, I can't de-interlace other videos as previously described.

Curiouser, and curiouser.

It is not clear to me what exactly you are doing. Don't mix up dxva render method and dxva hw acceleration. In this post http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1693694 you only postet results with dxva2 disabled. i asked you enable it and do the same tests. Still waiting for answer.

Okay, I understand what you want now. My apologies. Here you go:

With RC1, and changing the Video Settings under 'Acceleration' (Expert mode) to this:
Render Method: DXVA
-Enable HQ Scalers for scalings above: 0%
Decoding Method: Hardware Accelerated
Allow Hardware acceleration (DXVA2): Enabled

Turning on de-interlacing does not crash the test videos. And playback is smooth and buttery on all videos. Does not crash with overlay. Everything seems to be working fine.

Continuing with RC1, and changing the Video Settings under 'Acceleration' (Expert mode) to this:
Render Method: DXVA-HD
-Enable HQ Scalers for scalings above: 0%
Decoding Method: Hardware Accelerated
Allow Hardware acceleration (DXVA2): Enabled

Turning on de-interlacing results in slow choppy video. Crashes when overlay is up.

Thanks...it seems hard specifying DXVA for the render method, and enabling DXVA2 Acceleration resolves the issue(s). I suppose that means on 'Auto' it was trying to use DXVA-HD, which is incompatible with my hardware.

Sorry for having dragged this red herring across your path. And thanks for the help.

Yes I have the latest driver installed. Per the Intel website: 8.14.8.1083, and released 8/3/2012 is the most current and is what I have installed. I also have the latest BIOS update.
Can you try this drivers via Intel.com (8.0.4.1.1096 released at 12/10/2013)

I have a problem with a shared library (mysql) and Gotham Beta 4.
I use the function to cleanup the library.
It shows a progress bar and looks like it does it and all,
but in the end the database is not cleaned in that way I do expect it.

I expect entries of files that are removed from my samba-server to be removed
in the database as well by using the cleaning function.

With xbmc 12.x it did work that way.

I use RaspBMC if that does matter ...

Jochen

I did some further testing.

In Gotham Beta 4 there is no "DELETE FROM files" in the mysql-log.
So could this be the problem?

with Gotham (both Beta 1 and Beta 3) I have audio sync problems:

Tested on an i3-3225 (with internal GPU and Nvidia GTX760) and on i5-4670 (Nvidia GTX760)

With Frodo I have perfectly synced audio with adjust refresh rate on and A/V Sync off

With Gotham this and also any other combination with adjust refresh rate on (which I think of as essential) and A/V on or off will result in audio starting fine at the beginning of a movie and getting out of sync. Sometimes it's already out of sync from the start.

Is this a known bug?

As for the request to post a log:

http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=183076

That was with adjust refresh rate on and A/V sync off

Sound output is via a Toslink splitter to my Sonos Playbar.

Just tried with an mp4 in RC1.
Audio starts fine but drifts out of sync more and more:
http://pastebin.com/TZ5GcTDs

I don't have the insight what the things inside the debug log actually mean so I'd really appreciate if someone could take a look at both logs.
I'm not sure if it's a XBMC thing or has to do with my setup.

Thanks on advance!

First off, thanks for all your guys hard work on this awesome project!

I'm having an issue with XBMC playing an HTTP stream. It last worked on Beta 3 I believe, and I just tried it on RC1 and it still doesn't work. When I select the strm file, nothing happens visually. Plays fine with VLC.

Logs: http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=189601
Stream: http://btflash-lh.akamaihd.net/BTTOFLASH...DLIBPYSZAK
OS: XBMCbuntu 12.10
Hardware: NVidia ION 1, Atom 330

That stream may only be available in the mornings (EDT).
Let me know if you need any more info from me!

Not sure if this is an OpenELEC issue, TVHeadend or XBMC but I get video corruption when enabling Hardware acceleration on Live TV in all recent builds.

Can you exchange the backend?
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Those errors are most likely not the root cause. They are right after you tuned to a channel. Can you play the channels much longer and try to match video corruption to messages in the log?

My right speaker starts to crackle quite often immediately after I've watched a TV show (or movie) if I have the option "keep audio device alive" enabled. Anyone else that's been experiencing this? The problem definitely originates from XBMC, if I exit XBMC or mute my receiver the crackling stops and I don't experience it if I choose not to use the keep audio device alive option.

Also, it doesn't continue for ever, if I play another show or movie the audio is just fine. And sometimes it helps just to scroll around in the XBMC GUI and the crackling will end.

Using Win 8.1 and RC1 release but I have had this problem since I started using Gotham and the "keep audio device alive" option was introduced. I'm gonna try to paste my log the next time I run into this problem. Can't find anything useful in my log as this moment though.

Just post the full debug log with the audio component debug enbaled (on the debug portion)log, unless you are some sort on debug logs you should always post them

That debug log won't help. "Keep alive" streams random noise in a non hearable low volume. Some lowquality AVR components interpret that noise and produce interference ...

So what are my options? Should I post my log or is it no use? I'm using a Onkyo NR616 receiver, I only experience the crackling if I'm in not playing any media. I've never had the crackle while I pause a show/movie.
