Hi,
Possibly an odd request - and may have already been done.
With introduction of the new version of XBMC Gotham Beta there is a now the UPNP library sharing and update functionality which ensures all the libraries are shared and updated with content and watch status as long as they are powered/turned on. This was previously achieved by a MySQL centralised database on a dedicated machine, which in my opinion was clunky and slow to update.
I was wondering if it was possible to extract the library functionality and UPNP update functionality to run on one machine which is left on all the time.In my case I currently centralise my media onto a large Synology server which is left on all the time and the content managed by third party software - Sickbeard and couchpotato.
I would prefer to only turn the XBMC instances on when i require them around the house.
Any ideas?
